10 Ways to Practice Self-Care Sunday

Need to decompress after the whirlwind of Thanksgiving weekend? Here are ten ways to practice self-care Sunday—or Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday!

1. Go outside

Walk through the park. Hike a mountain. Jog your favorite route. By the time you’re finished, the combination of Vitamin D and endorphins will have you feeling like a million dollars.

2. Get a massage

When it comes to massage types, it’s tough to pick a favorite. However, hot stone massages tend to be our go-to this time of year. Not only do they ease tense muscles and help with relaxation, they also keep things warm while the temperature continues to drop.

3. Start a gratitude journal

Thanksgiving weekend seems particularly apt time to start a gratitude journal. Find a quiet, comfortable spot and commit yourself to writing at least five things for which you feel grateful. Once you’re finished, set a reminder in your phone to make another entry a few days later.

4. Plan your next dream vacation

Traveling isn’t exactly easy right now, but there’s no harm in getting ahead of things by planning your next dream vacation. In fact, a well-thought out trip will give you something to look forward to when the pandemic does settle down.

5. Listen to your favorite music

Music has been scientifically proven to boost your mood? So pop in those headphones and start blasting your favorite tunes. You’re practically guaranteed to feel 100% happier after listening!

6. Read a feel-good book

Reading is one of the easiest ways to relax, and it’s great for your health. According to a Yale University study, people who read at least 30 minutes each day live an average of two years longer than those who don’t read at all.

7. Soak in the bath

Warm baths help decrease stress hormones and balance serotonin levels, which help regulate mood. Run the tap, then add Fork & Melon’s Clean Luxury Bubble Bath for detoxifying, moisturizing, clarifying, and anti-aging benefits.

8. Be a tourist in your own town

See where you live through new eyes by pretending to be a tourist in your own town. Borrow a guidebook from the library. Take your camera for a walk. Eat at the most popular restaurant. Do anything that helps you remember just how special where you live is!

9. Have a glass of wine

Our favorites come from Dry Farm Wines. Their wines are “alive”, which means they’re rich with bacteria and compounds that enhance your microbiome and can help foster a balanced gut, protect brain cells from dying, and much more.

10. Try a guided meditation

Guided meditation can be as short as a few minutes or as long as several hours. No matter the length, its purpose is to help you achieve mental, emotional, and physical healing. Find a free one to follow on YouTube!
